For the twelfth time in five months, the wheels of the plain hit the ground. But this time it is a little bit different: I have landed on Dutch ground. As I run through the airport and finally walk through the doors of Schiphol, I have no time to actually look around for my family. My sister is already hanging around my neck in a “Hello” Joris Linssen will have wet dreams about.
After this, it only took me three days, some nice reunions and five broodjes Kroket, to feel right at home again.
Thanks for all your lovely messages! They kept me going on those moments I was ill, tired or homesick. It was a great adventure and I am really happy I did it!
p.s. Travelling with Julien and Dominic was a blessing. They did not mind me having to pee every hour. And they took care of basically everything: Julien is a walking navigation system and nobody beats Dominic’s skills in packing and planning. But most of all, we laughed all the way.
